Construction of a cell tower at the Almonte Fairgrounds began Monday, March 24.
The project includes a 45-metre steel monopole tower with radio equipment shelter, fronting on Monk Street, between two outbuildings on the fairgrounds property.
This is a federal project, not municipal. Municipalities cannot approve or refuse antenna system installations, but can request some conditions to be imposed.
