Smiths Falls is looking into boundary expansion to accommodate the anticipated growth of the community over the next 25 years.
The 2023 Land Needs Study said the Town needs to find 93 acres of land for residential development, 33 acres for institutional development and between 13 and 32 acres for employment development.
Council provided in-principle support to a report that identified three areas of potential boundary expansion that are largely vacant: Lands both North and South of Lorne Street, as well as lands south of Lorne and North of the Gallipeau Centre.
